The Canopy
The Canopy consists of two large canvas glamping tents, one with a luxury king bed and the other with a luxury queen bed (both have electric blankets for winter camping). There's a modern bathroom with a hot shower and flushing toilet, and also a modern indoor kitchen and laundry that includes a large fridge freezer and dishwasher.
Cooking and eating happens outside in an oak kitchen and open plan dining area (under the barns canopy), overlooking the valley and bush. The 165m2 raised timber floor and canopy keeps you safe and comfortable in all weather.
Solar-powered and completely off-grid, The Canopy has been designed and renovated to have a very low environmental impact.
"The Canopy was built over 20 years ago by the local community to hold local music festivals on our property. During the design and renovation process, we wanted to retain as much of the original historic structure as we could, ensuring new features blend in with the old. The views to the north and west have been left uninterrupted and modern facilities added to provide a luxurious and comfortable experience for both novice and experienced campers. Pure fresh rainwater is collected for drinking, bathing and washing, and solar power is used for life’s little luxuries such as electric blankets, coffee machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher and lighting.
The land surrounding the Canopy is yours to explore. From rambles in 17 acres of pristine wilderness to wandering the 1km heritage walk around town, or watching wildlife by the brook, adventures in nature await. Wollombi Village is also only a short 20min bush walk away. All we ask is that you leave no trace.
Our first two cabins are in Wollombi, a historic village in the Lower Hunter, just 1 hour 45mins from Sydney. Once an important Aboriginal meeting place and a major junction on the convict trail, Wollombi now moves at a much slower pace, with charming family run cafes and restaurants, a country pub, local vineyards and historic 19th- century buildings.
Wollombi Village is an easy 20min walk away, where the locals will share their favourite hidden treasures, or discover a local Aboriginal Cultural Guide Walk through the Yengo National Park or visit a local winery. Laguna Village and the vineyards in the beautiful valley of Broke and the main Hunter Valley are also close by.
Or, simply do nothing but enjoy the views over the Billabong from the wood-fired hot tub.
